KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn the operational side of the environmental commodities trade process
  • Assist the operations team with maintaining and collecting data
  • Stakeholder engagement across various business functions
  • Support various automation projects to aid team efficiency
  • Ensure trade transactions contain accurate information
  • Assist with creating internal contracts and reviewing external contracts
  • Follow up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contracts are executed and accurate

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Studying towards bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of business, economics, finance, or similar
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Able to prioritize important projects and work independently
  • Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal
  • Minimum of 20 hours per week

ROLE OF A PRODUCT COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

STX is a rapidly growing trading company in the environmental commodities sphere. We trade environmental certificates, biofuels and biomethane. We operate a global business with offices across the globe, with a rapidly expanding business and opportunities.

As part of the expansion, we are looking for a specialist in the area of Waste- and Animal Byproducts for compliance. You will be the center point of knowledge in the organization for all related matters, as well as laying the foundations for the internal guidelines and procedures. Your main role will be to be the gatekeeper of all trades that STX executes in the biofuels space with Waste and Animal Byproducts.

You verify if all the counterparties have the correct approvals and licenses in the area of Waste- and Animal Byproducts

You will also verify the setup of all compliance documents, such as Annex 7 and Commercial documents both related to contracts/orders. For all waste and by-product matters, you will be the subject expert and escalation contact point for internal and external parties. This includes a variety of feedstocks, including animal by-products, but also other biofuels materials that are a lot less common.

You make sure STX is at the forefront of compliance and knows exactly what is allowed and what is not. You will interact with our trading- and operations department, with regard to contracts, documentation, permissions and approvals in the field of animal by-products and other waste materials. You will also be involved in the process of new trades and act as an internal consultant on these matters, making sure that all trades comply with legal waste- and by-product related requirements.

You will prepare and conduct the internal audits for all waste and animal by-product contracts making sure that all documentation and data is complete and accurate. Additionally, you will also be the main contact for any outside communication from the related authorities to Annex 7 and waste guidance.

With STX’s expansion, also come new products. Together with the Operational Manager, you will be responsible for obtaining the new REACH registrations for STX. This will include mastering the REACH legislation, designing and implementing proper procedures within the Operations department and monitoring the application of the designed procedures. You will become the subject matter expert within the organization for any REACH related questions, working closely with Trading and Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building and implementing company-wide knowledge of Waste and By-Product handling
  • Properly processing and verifying all contracts, product movements and supporting documentation according to waste and animal by-product legislation.
  • Cooperating with Trading team on business opportunities based on legislation and regulation.
  • Preparing and carrying out the internal audits.
  • Communicating with external authorities related to any waste compliance regulations/audits
  • Implement and monitor all REACH imports, ensuring compliance with all guidelines

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years of specific experience working with legislation related to waste and animal by-products
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Law or a related field
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken. Dutch fluency is advantageous

ROLE OF AN INTERIM PAYROLL SPECIALIST

As an International Payroll Specialist you are end to end responsible for the payroll process in all countries where our offices are based. Of course, we want to pay our employees all over the world their salaries on time and ensure timely and accurate processing of the payroll. This includes collecting and providing payroll data to the local payroll providers and reviewing the completed payroll reports. Currently, our colleagues are based in Amsterdam (HQ), Gothenburg, Hamburg, Lyon, New York, and Singapore, and we are expanding further on a global level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

On a monthly basis, you are responsible for collecting all payroll data from internal departments, organizing and submitting it to the local payroll provider in a timely and accurate manner, and:

  • Review monthly payroll output reports to ensure (variable) data is processed correctly
  • Be the first point of contact and sparring partner for our local payroll providers around payroll processes and other payroll-related communications
  • Be the go-to person for all payroll-related questions for our employees
  • Keep track of and ensure compliance regarding all local legislations
  • Prepare 30% ruling applications and carry out regular checks
  • Prepare and submit monthly changes to our pension provider and insurances and check payroll invoices
  • Participate in the payroll implementation process for new countries, if needed
  • Work together with external parties (e.g. local lawyers, tax advisors) in case you need any advice on the practice of local labor law
  • Prepare and align with the Finance team on payroll reporting
  • Work together with the HR and Finance Team to implement automation, innovation, and any continuous improvements around the payroll processing and reporting
  • Optimize employee processes and experience

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You have a few years of work experience in an HR department of a commercial and international-oriented organization, and:

  • 5 + years of experience in (international) payroll for the Netherlands, experience with further EU countries is advantageous
  • Experience with compensation and benefits; setting up new entities, and 30% ruling
  • Ability to identify and mitigate (compliance) risks and well versed in local labor law
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as independently while adhering to processes and procedures

ROLE OF A TEAM LEAD

As a Trader and Team Lead you play an important role in driving the business forward. In this highly competitive market, you’ll constantly engage with prospective clients to fully grasp their needs, and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. Furthermore you will have the ability to build and lead a team of Sales Traders in the Polish market. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. It combines strategic planning to offer tailored solutions to your clients whilst enhancing your managerial skills in building up and leading a team.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage an existing client portfolio and acquiring new clients
  • Make trade proposals to your clients and manage the forward trading book
  • Doing the required research and analysis in a new market
  • Dive into market developments
  • Becoming the main information source for counterparties you trade with
  • Originate and manage the market flow
  • Build and manage a team of Sales Traders
  • Engage and build relationships with the registry and legislators in the renewables sphere

 KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 4-5 years of working experience within a sales, trading, business development, or account management role
  • Previous exposure to electricity, gas or renewables market is a preference
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
  • Fluent in English and Polish
  • Commercial and entrepreneurial attitude
  • Ability to build and lead a team of Sales Traders
  • A pro-active approach
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • Attentive and empathetic approach
  • Strong collaborative work style
  • Living or willing to relocate to Amsterdam or Warsaw

As a Junior Sales Trader- Benelux, you play an important role in driving the business forward. In this highly competitive market, you’ll constantly engage with prospective clients to fully grasp their needs, and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. By working strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building your own customer portfolio
  • Serve the existing customer portfolio in a professional manner
  • Creating deals with the assistance of our traders and analysts
  • Negotiating deals with new and existing clients
  • Doing the required research and analysis in a new market
  • Dive into market developments
  • Becoming the main information source for counterparties you trade with

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Commercial experience is a plus
  • Affinity with finance and commodities
  • Able to work independently and result-driven
  • Not afraid to cold call and approach people pro-actively
  • International experience during studies and/or career is a plus
  • Fluent Dutch and English speaker at a business level
  • Energetic, curious, and ambitious
