ROLE OF A TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST

STX is growing and so is our Talent and Acquisition team. The current team has one Team Lead and six Talent and Acquisition specialists – one based in our office in New York city – with all different backgrounds and skills.   • Develop new quantitative tools and improve existing models to contribute to the desk’s analytical excellence

ABOUT THE TEAM

”The THG-Quota mechanism is an instrument implemented by the German Government to reduce the CO2 Emissions of the German transportation sector. This mechanism aims to promote the usage of environmental friendly fuels with the lowest CO2 footprint and to punish fossil fuels with increased taxation. You can help our team to make this sector more sustainable by finding, discussing and negotiating offtake agreements with sellers and buyers. Our team is the only team within STX to operate an in-house software platform in partnership with countless German utilities and corporates. ROLE OF SALES MANAGER

As a Sales Manager, you play an important role in driving the business forward. In this highly competitive market, you’ll be responsible for constant engagement with prospective clients to fully grasp their needs, and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. By working strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expanding our existing customer portfolio within the DACH market
  • Structuring strategic transactions and trades
  • Taking the lead in executing trading strategies
  • Through business development identify and follow up on new leads
  • Proposing new deal structures and transactions complying with market’s requirements
  • Conducting research into the DACH environmental commodities market to keep customers up to date
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to new and existing clients
  • Building strong connections with key counterparties
  • Being an expert in timing the market in order to get the best results by acting as a single point of contact for your customers
  • Conducting due diligence and investment research on relevant trading strategies

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-2 years of working experience within a sales, trading, business development or account management
  • Exposure to environmental commodities market or renewable energy is advantageous is highly preferred
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree
  • Business fluent in German
  • Commercial and entrepreneurial attitude
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • Attentive and empathetic approach
  • Collaborative work style
  • Living or willing to relocate to the region of Hamburg, Germany OR Amsterdam, Netherlands

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the German blending / biofuel markets by trading physical and non-physical commodities
  • Develop and manage a team that serves all commercial needs of the German blending market
  • End-responsible person for trading German blending related commodities with trade mandates
  • Define and create arbitraging opportunities among other European blending markets
  • Senior representative of our new STX office in Hamburg with the ambition to scale the head-count and our STX voice to the German blending market strongly in the upcoming years

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Financial and commodity trading background with at least 8 years of work experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the German Biofuel / Blending obligation market
  • Strong commercial trading mindset to create regulatory arbitraging opportunities
  • Proven track record of trading physical commodities (including logistics) in Germany and Europe
  • Ability and experience to manage an international team located in different offices
  •  Living or open to relocate to Hamburg
