Office Manager

ABOUT OPERATIONS

The operations function forms the backbone of any company. At STX, the Operations team, which comprises IT, Finance, Human Resources, and Middle Office, works closely with all other teams and desks to ensure that STX continues to perform and deliver at an exceptionally high level. As a critical partner in the business, Operations also guarantees compliance with all the relevant rules and regulations. Moreover, the Operations team works collaboratively to make sure that STX has the necessary structures and processes in place to grow and develop further in new products, industries, and markets. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize company and client events (off-site meetings, executive meetings, afterworks, Christmas party etc)
  • Manage budget and order proactively supplies, stationery, and food & beverages
  • Manage contacts with all external suppliers and contractors
  • Coordinate and manage projects (e.g. office upgrades, facilities, events)
  • Come up with new ideas to improve the office environment and implement them
  • Liaise with the building manager
  • Manage all travel bookings with the external party for the company

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • You have at least 2+ years of professional working experience, preferably in office management/event management or project manager
  • You are fluent in French and English (hard criteria)
  • You are an excellent project manager with a problem-solving mindset under time pressure
  • You have a proactive attitude

ABOUT THE TEAM

“The Renewable Gas Desk has a clear mission: to help customers that are experiencing difficulties when it comes to achieving their environmental targets. We help them transition from fossil fuels to renewable alternatives. Our team originates new products or solutions on behalf of our clients and that requires an innovative mindset, especially in this new market, which is largely uncharted territory. ROLE OF A RENEWABLE GAS ORIGINATOR

As a Renewable Gas Originator you will work directly with project developers and producers in France.  You will be responsible for helping your clients generate new revenue streams and optimize existing ones; continually explore new opportunities within the renewable gas market; act as the main contact and source of knowledge for new and existing clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and win new business in the French renewable gas market
  • Understand all technical aspects of renewable gas projects
  • Proactive commercial development of market potential, working with both new and existing customers
  • Contribute to developing STX carbon position and visibility
  • Map and develop relationships with partners and counterparties
  • Optimize market connectivity between the trading and origination team
  • Become the main internal knowledge center for the French renewable gas market

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2+ years of relevant biomethane experience
  • Relevant experience and understanding of registry requirements, project methodologies, national governance frameworks
  • Strong understanding of market fundamentals and developments
  • Existing network within the biomethane industry
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills are required
  • Collaborative work style
  • Living or willing to move to (the area of) Lyon

ROLE OF A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

As a Business Development Manager, you play an important role in driving the business forward and will have an active role in the growth of the company. In this emerging, yet highly competitive market, you’ll constantly engage with prospective clients and stakeholders to fully grasp their needs, understand the whole ecosystem and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels and companies from various industries and markets. By working strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze regulations within the French transportation market with a focus on Revision of the Renewable Energy Directive (REDII) and Fuel Quality Directive (FQD), Electric Vehicle (EV) related topics
  • Understand and define possible business models for STX that are arising from new regulatory changes
  • Execute lean and agile trading setups
  • Create partnerships to leverage opportunities and convert them into a permanent presence across the value chain in the sector
  • Training sales traders on topics related to market structure, sharing the network and preparing the entire sales team to work the most efficiently
  • Cooperation with other teams working on national transportation markets

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of work experience in the energy markets with exposure to French regulations on energy, fuels, and transportation
  • Extensive Fuel market and Electric vehicle exposure, direct or indirect network is preferred
  • Trade-oriented, commercial and opportunistic mindset
  • Fluent French speaker at a business level, and fluent in English
  • Analytical, critical and strategic thinking combined with the capability of doing research and analysis to contribute to company growth efforts
  • Collaborative work style
  • Living or willing to relocate to Lyon, France

ROLE OF A SALES TRADER

As a Sales Trader, you play an important role in driving the business forward. In this highly competitive market, you’ll constantly engage with prospective clients to fully grasp their needs, and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. By working strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building your own customer portfolio and generating opportunities with biofuel-related products
  • Becoming the main information source for your customer portfolio
  • Matching buyers with sellers and proposing (new) deal structures
  • Analyzing product streams and development
  • Researching into business opportunities within the industry

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 – 5 years of commercial experience (either in business development, trading, or sales role)
  • Fluent English speaker, French is mandatory
  • Experience in trading combined with knowledge of biofuels, waste, environmental commodities-related products
  • Strong problem solver with the ability to respond flexibly
  • Affinity with finance and deal structuring
  • Strong commercial drive and a proactive attitude
  • Eager to learn and work hard
  • Living in or willing to relocate to Lyon, France
