ROLE OF A SALES TRADER

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn to take transactions from origination all the way to finalization 
  • Develop market presence in across multiple environmental commodities in the East Coast Compliance market, i.e., PJM RECs and NEPOOL RECs
  • Build strong relationships with market participants 
  • Responsible for power and gas hedging strategy and execution via OTC bilateral and ICE
  • Maintain and develop a portfolio of clients across your market
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes in your designated market 

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related fields
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in East Coast compliance markets and direct exposure to PJM & NEPOOL RECs
  • Experience building and managing a trading book
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to multi-task
  • Can understand clients’ needs and challenges and apply creative and logical approach to identify solutions

ROLE OF A TRADER

As a Trader at STX, you’ll focus on translating complex data and information into concrete trading opportunities.   • Setting up the renewable fuels trading desk and responsible for the performance of the fuels trading book
  • Developing new trading opportunities across North America
  • Building and managing relationships with both the supply and buy side
  • Identify and utilize market opportunities in the biofuels marketplace, including the rins and lcfs credits
  • Working closely with the renewable fuels trading teams in Europe as well as the STX’s risk and management teams

ROLE OF AN ORIGINATOR

As an Attribute Originator you will work directly with generators and project developers in Latin America. You will be responsible for helping your clients generate new revenue streams and optimize existing ones; continually explore new opportunities within the energy attribute or carbon offset markets; act as the main contact and source of knowledge for new and existing clients.
