ROLE OF A SALES TRADER

As a Certificate Trader, you play an important role in driving the business forward. In this highly competitive market, you’ll constantly engage with prospective clients to fully grasp their needs, and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. By working strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, market map, and originate projects in the Asia-Pacific I-RECs market
  • Understand all technical aspects of long-term deal/contract structuring, and project development for energy infrastructure projects
  • Proactive commercial development of market potential, working with both new and existing customers
  • Map and identify new development opportunities and build relationships with partners and counterparties
  • Optimize market connectivity between the trading and origination team
  • Become the main internal knowledge center for the APAC I-RECs markets

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 4+ years of relevant I-RECs or other renewable energy market experience within Asia
  • Relevant experience and understanding of registry requirements, project methodologies, and international governance frameworks
  • Proven track record within project accreditation process
  • Strong understanding of market fundamentals with ability to utilize your existing network within the renewable energy market
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills are required
  • Fluency in English is required, another native Asian language preferred
  • Working from our Singapore office

ROLE OF A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

As a Business Development Manager, you play an important role in driving the business forward and will have an active role in the growth of the company.

In this emerging, yet highly competitive market, you’ll identify and analyze opportunities within the Japanese carbon and renewable energy space . By working alongside the senior management of the company and the Strategy & Development department, you will turn those opportunities into a concrete business plan. You will constantly engage with prospective clients and stakeholders to fully grasp their needs, understand the whole ecosystem and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels and companies from various industries and markets within Japan. By working strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Structuring strategic transactions and trades
  • Taking the lead in executing trading strategies with corporate clients
  • Expanding our existing customer portfolio within the Japanese market
  • Identify and follow up on new leads through business development
  • Proposing new deal structures and transactions complying with the market’s requirements
  • Conducting research into the Japanese environmental commodities market to keep customers up to date
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to new and existing clients
  • Building strong connections with key counterparties
  • Being an expert in timing the market in order to get the best results by acting as a single point of contact for your customers
  • Conducting due diligence and investment research on relevant trading strategies

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 year of working experience within a sales, trading, business development, or account management role
  • Previous experience in dealing with Japanese corporates/B2B
  • Exposure to the environmental commodities market or renewable energy is advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
  • Essential commercial and entrepreneurial attitude
  • Collaborative work style
  • Living or willing to relocate to Singapore

  • Analyze regulations within the Japanese Environmental Commodity market with a focus on carbon/renewable energy-related topics
  • Understand and define existing business models for STX and ones that are arising from new regulatory changes
  • Execute lean and agile trading setups
  • Create partnerships to leverage opportunities and convert them into a permanent presence across the value chain in the sector
  • Find and hire a team to cover the new markets/products you have identified

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of work experience in the energy/commodities market with exposure to Japanese regulations on decarbonization, energy, fuels, and transportation
  • Proven capacity to identify opportunities and translate them into business plans
  • Extensive environmental commodity market exposure, direct or indirect network is preferred
  • Trade-oriented, commercial and opportunistic mindset
  • Fluent Japanese speaker at a business level, and fluent in English
  • Analytical, critical, and strategic thinking combined with the capability of doing research and analysis to contribute to company growth efforts
  • Collaborative work style
  • Work location: Singapore/Japan
