STX Group is successfully expanding its global operations with significant contribution from the Operations functions including the IT, HR, Mid-Office, Risk, Finance, Legal and Compliance teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take a leading role in the implementation of the Risk framework in the US, in cooperation with our global organization
- Participate in new trade approvals
- Implementation of risk models including Credit, Market, and Operational risk
- Perform credit analysis and assess the creditworthiness of the counterparty
- Monitoring position and overseeing adherence to risk policy and limits
- Initiate and lead special projects related to Risk
- Drive consistency, efficiency, and automation for regional and global activities of the team
- Strong interaction with the front office teams in a new challenging and growing environment, be able to understand their strategy and ready to challenge them when/if required
- Work closely with Legal, Finance, Trade Ops and Compliance to improve the flow of information across departments and accuracy of analysis
- Communicate risk policies and processes within the company, and build risk awareness among staff by providing support and training
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- BSc/BA in Business administration, Finance or Economics, or other relevant field. MSc/MA preferred
- Minimum of 7-10 years in a similar position in Financial services, (Commodity) Trading, or other relevant business
- Risk Management experience, preferably in commodity trading and/or financial securities
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and ability to apply these skills to variety of environments and business processes
- Knowledge of Balance sheet items / IFRS, US GAAP
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong understanding of risk concepts
- Ability to fast understand situations, foresee implications, make connections
- Able to liaise, communicate with various departments
- Not afraid to give your opinion, put sensitive items up for discussion
- Advanced Excel (VBA) and working knowledge of programming language (i.e. SQL, Python)
- Must be creative and open-minded to find the best possible solution for issues
- Excellent command of the English language
- Ability to work in an international environment across cultures
- Work permit in the United States
